Current thinking on suatainable humna habitat: The Findhorn Ecovillage Community case. Ecovillages worldwide address the contemporary quest for sustainability while increasing bioregional literacy and developing processes and tools that aim to reduce their ecological footprints.
20-minute neighbourhoods are settlements of human scale and short distances where living and working are reconciled and long trips to work become unnecessary.
Ecovillage Findhorn– is 60 years old. The pioneering eco-settlement in the Northeast of Scotland continues to play a leading role as a research and development centre for low-carbon lifestyles, pursued through a complex melange of dream and vision, dance and chant, technology and spirit, investigation and design, reflection and action, death and renewal.
The Findhorn Ecovillage Community has been awarded a grant from the National Lottery to explore what is required for a village with residents and businesses, buildings, gardens and roads to achieve carbon neutrality.
